Future Problem Solving Program International

We have recently been appointed by the Future Problem Solving Program International to deliver the programme here in the UK. FPSPI enables young people to learn creative problem solving skills, apply them to future scenarios, and come up with potential solutions. We are piloting the project in 2007-08, following which we intend to expand the project to as many schools as possible. If your Junior or Secondary school is interested in taking part please contact us with your details. There will also be opportunities to sponsor the program, please let us know if you would be interested in this exciting opportunity.

Recent projects

Science Alliance

The pilot year of the Science Alliance initative, funded by NESTA, brought together four primary schools in Brighton & Hove to produce the Science Alliance website. Pupils used digital camcorders and still cameras to capture their school science projects for the site and worked together to design their own web pages. This project was part of NESTA's ACRISAT initiative which aims to raise the educational attainment of young people from African and African-Caribbean ethnic backgrounds.

Whole class groups participated in this pilot project which culminated in the launch of the Science Alliance website and a teachers' twilight seminar held in Brighton in April 2004.

Pupils taking part in Science Alliance were able to develop their creativity, learn media production skills and gain increased confidence with new technology, as well as an appreciation of the contribution of ethnic minority scientists.

In 2004-5 Science Alliance took place in Kirklees, thanks to the support of Kirklees LEA, with 6 local schools participating.
